A first-winter ARCTIC WARBLER was trapped and ringed at Landguard NR (Suffolk) just prior to dusk last night and was still present today.
It was retrapped twice this morning but spent most of the day moving between the Holm Oaks and Tamarisk bushes close to the steps at the south end of the ringing compound and viewable from the footpath on the seaward side.
It was calling quite frequently but was generally typically elusive, showing well perhaps once an hour and for a few minutes at a time.
